Our program features a diverse lineup of speakers, including local experts and esteemed guests from Alaska, the Lower 48, Canada, and the UK. They will share valuable insights on gardening techniques, sustainable practices, plant care, and landscaping.
Experience an enriching event filled with engaging presentations, where you can enjoy refreshments while networking with fellow gardening enthusiasts. Attendees will have the chance to win exciting door prizes and participate in interactive Q&A sessions, making it a perfect opportunity to expand your gardening knowledge and connect with others who share your passion.

"Seeds" by The Soldotna Seed Library

Join us for an insightful program led by Seed Librarians; Ann Gravier, Jeanette Pedginski, MaryAnn Dyke, Hannah Nowakowski, and Paul Scoskie, who will describe the Soldotna Seed Library and its role as a valuable community resource. Our presenters will also discuss plans and budget for the 2024 gardening year, seek your input for the 2025 program, and explain how the seed donation process works.
O'Brien Garden and Trees Presentation

Mike O'Brien, owner of O'Brien Garden and Trees, and his daughter Michelle will share their expertise on growing Alaska-hardy fruits and managing their orchard in Nikiski. With over 40 years of experience, they will provide insights on apple and cherry varieties, sustainable gardening practices, and tips for cultivating fruit in Alaska’s challenging climate. O'Brien Garden and Trees is known for nearly 100 apple varieties, primarily sweet "dessert apples," and is a local favorite for apple-picking and tasting events. In addition to apples, they grow cherries, serviceberries, raspberries, strawberries, and currants, highlighting their commitment to experimenting with diverse fruits.
